National Poetry Month – June Saraceno, Krista Lukas, Tom Meschery

Thursdays in April are for National Poetry Month! Join us on our YouTube page, April 29 at 4pm for live readings from June Saraceno, Krista Lukas, and Tom Meschery; hosted by Shaun Griffin.

June Sylvester Saraceno’s third collection of poetry, The Girl from Yesterday, was released by Cherry Grove in January 2020. Her two previous books of poetry are Of Dirt and Tar and Altars of Ordinary Light. Her first novel, Feral, North Carolina, 1965 was published by Southern Fried Karma Publishing in November 2019.

Krista Lukas is the author of a poetry collection, Fans of My Unconscious, poems from which have been selected for the Best American Poetry 2006 and The Writer’s Almanac.

Tom Meschery, a retired NBA basketball player (Golden State Warriors and Seattle Sonics) and high school English teacher (Reno High School) earned his MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers Workshop. He has published three collections of poems; Nothing You Lose Can Be ReplacedSome Men, and Sweat: New and Selected Poems About Sports, all published by Black Rock Press. He lives with his wife, artist, Melanie Marchant in Sacramento, California where he continues to write and cooks gourmet meals for the two of them.
