Join us Saturday morning, October 2, as we welcome four local authors to the Levy Mansion yard to sign their books and talk with readers! Find out more about the authors and their titles below, and get your copies for signing ahead of time at our store links or in the shop.

More about the authors:
David Michael Slater is an acclaimed author of nearly thirty works of fiction and non-fiction for children, teens, and adults. His work includes the picture book, Bear With Me; the chapter book series, Mysterious Monsters; the teen series, Forbidden Books; the adult comic-drama, Fun & Games; and Wingnuts: A Field Guide to Everyday American Extremism. David teaches middle school in Reno, Nevada, where he lives with his wife and son. You can learn more about David and his work at www.davidmichaelslater.com.
Anthony Shafton has published six books, including The Nevada They Knew: Robert Caples and Walter Van Tilburg Clark (2017). Shafton was born in Chicago. His degrees are from Harvard and the Stanford graduate creative writing program. He has been attached to Reno and Pyramid Lake since 1963, and relocated here permanently ten years ago.
Author, speaker, coach, and positive education specialist, Molly Dahl offers workshops, trainings, and presentations around the county and internationally. She taught the first Social, Emotional, Academic Development (SEAD) certification course through Sierra Nevada University. Molly is co-founder of Mindful SEAD, a non-profit education organization that offers teacher education on Mindfulness-Based Social Emotional Learning and Intelligence. She is a certified teacher of yoga, meditation, and Cultivating Emotional Balance. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a Certificate in Positive Psychology from The Wholebeing Institute.
Holly Walton-Buchanan, Ph.D. (University of Nevada Reno, 2003), was born in Salt Lake City, UT, and grew up in Nevada. Her father’s family has been involved in ranching for over 100 years, from the Walton Ranch in Woodruff, UT, to today’s Walton Ranch in Jackson, WY. Holly was an educator in the Washoe County School District and the Nevada Department of Education. A long-time historic preservationist, In 2011, Holly teamed up with Ben Damonte, Jr., to tell the story of the iconic Damonte Ranch (founded in 1857). This led to a broader story of how ranching began in the Truckee Meadows as well as Carson Valley. Holly is married to Kelvin J. Buchanan, a geological engineer, and lives in Reno.
