What a long, strange trip it's been. Back in the day (2006 to be exact), Tahoe Writers Works was known as the Lake Tahoe Writing Club. Our first publication was aptly named “Writings From the Lake Tahoe Writing Club.” The club had been using a Hunter S. Thompson quote for promotional efforts, and we felt as though his words resonated the personality of our eclectic group of writers.
“The Edge...there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.”
When we decided to put together a second edition and broaden our submission process, the goal was to seek writers, poets, and artists who took chances and might be a little too “over the edge” to be considered by other literary publications. We wanted to be different, and not follow the formulas and themes of other magazines. We aptly named our lit pub, "EDGE."
